    More than 20,000 signatures were collected for a Memorandum to the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Rallies, Protest, Demonstrations, Seminars were held, attended by thousands of supporters in 18 districts of Gujarat."

    Greetings from Navsarjan. The Global Protest day was very effective and brought a lot of impact in Gujarat. On behalf of the National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights, the following programmes were undertaken in Gujarat.

    Memorandum to the Chief Minister of Gujarat - a written memorandum was submitted to the Collector and other authorities to be forwarded to the Chief Minister in 18 districts of the State. More than 20,000 signatures were collected for the memorandum. Rallies, Protest, Demonstrations, Seminars were held, attended by 100 to 2000 supporters in these districts. Dalit activists, academicians, renowned personalities and eminent leaders of Gujarat attended these programmes. Many NGOs and Unions also joined in the Protest.

    Ex-MLAs, Councilors and former Ministers also signed in the memorandum to the Chief Minister. A copy of the Memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister was also forwarded with signatures to 182 MLAs and 26 MPs of Gujarat. The programme got a lot of coverage in print as well as in local visual media.
